New Independent Cinema in Reading Meets Mixed Reactions
A new cinema in Reading has created mixed opinions after announcing they will house three screens as well as space for events and exhibition space.
The venue will be run by the Really Local Group, who have already developed two similar cinemas. Tickets cost between £5 to £8, and the venues all have an emphasis on the community.
The cinema will be in Broad Street Mall, in the stock room of what used to be Argos.
However, some locals are not hugely excited about the new venture. Many thought that a new cinema is unnecessary, seen as one recently closed down nearby. Lots of locals took to Facebook arguing that an ice rink or swimming pool would create more of a buzz in the area.
The opening date for The Gramophone has not yet been released.
