Inverness Restaurants Under Threat
Inverness food enthusiasts are at risk of losing two popular, city centre restaurants.
Tartan Tapas has announced it will be closing its doors due to overhead and location costs. Tartan Tapas is in the popular Eastgate Shopping Centre. Manager and owner, Greg MacBean, thanked customers for their support.
“Eastgate is a bit too cold and draughty in that area. When it is winter time, it just doesn’t work at all for us.
“It is a lovely concept but the wrong place. I need something smaller and cheaper.”
The fate of the Ivy Bar and Kitchen on Church Street also hangs in the balance as HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) are appointing a liquidator.
There is, however, a slight silver lining for any burger fanatics as fast food giant, Burger King are finally opening a city centre restaurant in the shopping centre.
