As we elevate our standards and redefine luxury, we are on the lookout for a passionate and dynamic individual to join us as Conferencing & Events Assistant Manager.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A, ASSISTANT CONFERENCING AND EVENTS MANAGER AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Head of Conferencing and Events, you can expect your working day to include the following.

  • Leading and motivating the team to get the best out of them on every shift
  • Liasing with our event organiser to make sure their event is perfect ... from a wedding to a dinner to a conference
  • Reading the function sheet, and briefing the team to ensure everybody knows what should happen and when
  • Training the team to ensure they are able to give the best possible service to our guests
  • Supporting the Head of Conferencing and Events in administration, event planning, rota and payroll management, employee relations, and staff engagement.
  • Deputising for the Head of Conferencing and Eventds in their absence.
  • Duty Manager shifts - so flexibility is essential

To succeed in the role of Assistant Conferencing and Events Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills.

  • Team leader, Management or experience in Conferencing and Events in a large hotel and/or hospitality venue
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team
  • Can do attitude, willing to roll up your sleeves
  • Flexibility - as some of our events can start early and some can finish late
  • Warm and friendly personality, someone who can build a quick rapport with our customers
  • Proactive and forward thinking
  • Time manaagement
  • Duty Manager experience (desirable)
