New TV Series ‘Mega Air’ to go Behind the Scenes of West Midlands Airport

A new eight-part documentary will begin later this month on Dave showcasing the happenings of East Midlands Airport.

The show will focus on the airport’s cargo operation, which is the second busiest in the UK (Heathrow being first).

Huge shipment companies such ad DHL, FedEx and Royal Mail are based in the airport and other operate flights from there.

The programme will look at issues such a wildlife control, fire drills and overnight repairs to runways.

A spokesperson for the airport said: We’re really proud to be a key focus of Mega Air.

"From the moment the producers first saw the cargo operation they were sold on the idea of filming at EMA.

"The mix of traffic coming in and out of the airport combined with the scale of the operation really appealed to them.

"This documentary brings to life some of the daily challenges that our dedicated team face keeping the 24-hour operation running ensuring that both people and goods can fly in and out every day of the year."

The series starts at 2pm on Saturday 26th October on Dave.
