Supermarkets in the UK and worldwide are tackling the plastic issues more and more each day, trying to work on making our planet a greener place.

Aldi came out with an announcement this week, discussing the many commitments it is making to help do its part in becoming more environmentally forward, with the intention of becoming 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable within the next 6 years.

But it doesn’t just stop there, by 2025 they’re also committed to reducing the packaging material of all Aldi exclusive products by at least 15%.  By 2020 they are planning on implementing a scheme to make any private-label products easier to reuse for consumers, and plan to make 100% of Aldi-exclusive consumable packaging to include the How2Recycle label.  This helps the customers know how to do their bit for the environment, taking the schemes further than the threshold of the stores.
