Holland & Barrett Restock Plastic-Free Beauty Products after Selling Out Within 48 Hours

Friday, July 19, 2019

Following a range release this month of eco-friendly products that was sold out within two days, Holland & Barrett have announced a restock of the range, Ethique, which is a New Zealand based brand.

The range includes 100% vegan, plastic free and cruelty free items such as shampoo and conditioner bars, body wash, facial cleansers and scrubs, and moisturisers. It was said that once released in 840 UK Holland & Barrett stores on the 7th of July, shoppers were purchasing items every five minutes, and 55,000 people signed up to be on a waiting list for the second release on Monday (15th of July).

The products come with different colours and scents, which include coconut, lime, kiwi and ginger, and are already a hit with the customers, claiming that they couldn’t tell the difference between the shampoo bars and the regular shampoos, which would come in the plastic bottles.

Ethique claims that one bar is the equivalent to using three normal bottles of shampoo, which results in Holland & Barrett stopping the production of over 1,720 bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill after use.

Ethique is to thank for the saving of 3.3 million plastic bottles throughout the brand and will rise to around 10 million by 2020.

The bars are £12.99 and can be found in stores now.
