Is Brexit Already Affecting the Hospitality Industry in Scotland?

Thursday, January 24, 2019

A new survey found that Brexit has already negatively affected just below a fifth of the hospitality sector in Scotland, reporting that 17% of 500 outlets reported that they’re losing staff and bookings as a result to Brexit, and it is said that one in four expect the loss of staff following the UK leaving the EU.

Depending on location, some outlets are growing but unfortunately one in seven are in a decline.  Though despite the numbers and worries, retailers are becoming optimistic as about 59% of outlets were strong and steady, or growing by the end of 2018, and it is expected to rise to 66% by the end of this year.
