‘Pizza Academy’ to be launched by Pizza Pilgrims

Friday, July 5, 2019

Founders of Pizza Pilgrims, James and Thom Elliot, currently operate 10 sites in London and one in Oxford and are trying to find a site to create a pizza academy, which will allow them to train new starters in a less stressful and pressured environment and create a structured approach to develop the staff, both new and existing.

The project will include a one week induction which will cover first aid, health and safety, restaurant terminology and further training focussing on the roles within the business, which will include bartending, cheffing and waiting.

Head of People leader, Hayley Cummings, who recently worked at Wahaca, is to run specialist courses for those already working in the business.

Though they are looking to open further sites within the next year, James and Thom made it clear that the focus is on the project, in order to increase the quality of training.
