In the UK, Jones Food Company's new facility, referred to as JFC2, marks their second foray into vertical farming, preceded by their initiatives in Lincolnshire (2018) and an innovation center in Bristol (2022).
At JFC2, an assortment of herbs and salad greens is grown, which consist of basil, coriander, flat-leaf parsley, dill, lettuce, pak choi, and baby leaf cress.
Salad bags from Homegrown, Lēaf's sauce collection, and our self-branded herbs are all available for purchase.

JFC2 runs exclusively on renewable energy and incorporates innovative technology and bespoke designs to optimize water usage and irrigation, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and automation for maximum profitability.
Glyn Stephens, as the head of growth at Jones Food Company, noted historically high energy consumption came from temperature and humidity control. In our latest facility, we've given priority to this area, making small enhancements
based on JFC1 insights, leading to a substantial decrease in energy usage.
JFC2 officially opened on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
