The Grand Hotel to Reopen This Summer

Friday, January 17, 2020

The Grand Hotel in Birmingham is due to reopen in summer after a refurbishment of around £30m.

The hotel was built in 1879 by Isaac Horton and is still owned by his family to this day.  The hotel has welcomed guests such as Winston Churchill and King George V1.

The property will feature a ‘destination restaurant’, a renovated Grosvenor Ballroom, two bars, a rooftop garden and 185 rooms.

This multi-million-pound revamp has helped restore the original features throughout the building, including mosaic tiles floors, historical ceilings, the stone exterior and grand staircase.
